The subs you pay are used in three ways:

  1. They include an amount payable to the Scout Association which includes insurance so that your child is covered at meetings and activities. This is currently more than £40 per child.
  2. They fund the activities at the evening meetings.
  3. Finally they are used to maintain the Scout hall.

Subs for the current year, 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015, are £120. This can be paid as 12 installments of £10 from April to Mar inc.
If you join part way through the year please check the schedule below to see how much you are due to pay. You can still pay by installments.

There are 2 ways to pay:

  1. MONTHLY:
    Monthly payments of £10 (ideally on the 15th of the month).
    This can be set up as a standing order using the following details:
    Bank: CAFBANK
    Sort Code: 40-52-40
    Account number: 00010885
    Reference: Your child's surname and initial (IMPORTANT so we can identify the payment).
  2. ANNUALLY
    A single payment of the full amount to the above account or by cheque, payable to 1st Woodmansterne Scout Group.
    (Please send this to Cheryl Sanders at 46, The Chase, Coulsdon CR5 2EG).

These figures include insurance for your child.

Your Gift Aid form enables the group to claim back from HMRC the tax you have paid. We get 25p extra for every £1 you pay us in subs. This costs you nothing but brings in over £1300 to the group each year.

If you pay higher rate tax you can claim extra relief on your donations.

Flexible Volunteering at the 1st Woodmansterne
Lend a hand or adopt a job in 2014
. It may be that you would like to offer a particular skill, help out regularly or occasionally in a Section, adopt a one off job or help out with admin or fundraising. You may wish to help for a while or for a set period either regularly or occasionally. So if you'd like to find out more, please do get in touch.

Join our Beaver, Cub or Scout Teams

We are always keen to recruit additional adults to join our Section teams so if you would like to join us on a Monday evening at Beavers, a Wednesday evening at Cubs or a Friday evening at Scouts, do get in touch. If you can't make it a weekly event then we would be very happy to welcome you once a fortnight. By pairing you up with another parent we would then have an extra helper each week. It is great fun and very rewarding and our young people enjoy everything we do!

Join the Management Team

Otherwise known as the Executive Committee, the Management Team are always looking for new helpers. There are currently vacancies for two parent reps. You do not need any Scouting experience - just enthusiasm.

Join our Social Team

If helping with the sections is not your thing why not join the Social & Fundraising Team? We arrange various activities throughout the year: Quiz Night, Barn Dance, Mayday Fair tea tent, AGM refreshments and anything else you can think of!

Lost Property

The first person to contact if your child loses something is the section leader. Please make sure all items of uniform are marked with your child's name.
